On March 18, 1990, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston was the scene of one of the most mysterious heists in history. Two men posing as police officers managed to steal thirteen works of art valued at approximately $500 million, before disappearing without leaving a trace.

Two and a half years later, while our protagonist, FBI agent William Anderson, is on leave following a hand injury that has temporarily taken him off field duty, he receives a shocking and unexpected piece of evidence linking the heist to his personal life. What begins as a vacation quickly turns into a personal investigation, leading him into a web of secrets that will change the course of his life forever.
